What is OPCS?

A few years ago the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada had multiple summer camps throughout the province.  Okanagan Pentecostal Camp was located near Falkland, BC, and had many years of developing and encouraging campers in the faith.  From kids camp to teen camp to family camps, the summer created many memories and lasting friendships as well as life changing encounters with God.  As time went on, it became more difficult for some camps to be financially sustainable and it was eventually decided to sell the camp. The funds from the sale of the camp were immediately placed in an endowment that had a vision: if we can't do ministry to reach out to kids, teens and families anymore through our geographic location, then we would use the funds to help support these ministries as they rise up amongst local churches in the regions around the former camp.   The endowment was placed under the management of a society named the Okanagan Pentecostal Camp Society and is managed by various volunteers from local churches.  The society’s mandate remains to assist member churches of the society by facilitating camps, retreats, seminars, conferences, church outings and short-term mission projects among the Pentecostal churches of the BC-Yukon District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) in the Thompson/Shuswap and Okanagan Sections.
